Himalayan Dairy’s First Step in Cheesemaking

At Himalayan Dairy, our cheesemaking journey is guided by a simple idea: to create cheese that truly belongs to Nepal. By combining fresh local milk with Nepali spices, herbs, and traditional practices, we are developing dairy products that reflect local taste, culture, and sustainability. Our focus is not only on flavour but also on eco-friendly production and community-centred values.

Himalayan Masala Fresh Cheese is inspired by everyday Nepali kitchens, where spices are carefully balanced to enhance rather than overpower. Made with special local masala, salt, and fresh green coriander, this cheese is mild and creamy with gentle warmth. The coriander adds a fresh herbal finish, making it ideal for flatbreads, snacks, and light traditional dishes.

Himalayan Green Coriander Fresh Cheese highlights the freshness of locally grown herbs and the purity of fresh

milk. Soft and smooth in texture, it carries a bright, aromatic coriander flavour that feels clean and refreshing. This cheese pairs well with vegetables, salads, and simple Nepali meals where freshness is key.

Natural Fresh Cheese celebrates milk in its purest form, without added spices or herbs. With a soft, creamy texture and a clean, milky taste, it allows the natural quality of local milk to shine. Its simplicity makes it versatile, suitable for both savoury dishes and lightly sweet preparations.

Grey Cheese with Special Himalayan Mix Masala is a bold and experimental creation developed using a unique blend of Himalayan spices. Earthy, slightly smoky, and layered in flavour, this cheese offers depth without being overpowering. It works especially well when lightly grilled or pan-fried and stands out as a distinctive element in traditional and modern dishes alike.

Sustainability remains at the heart of our work. By using local and biodegradable materials such as duna, tapari, natural leaves, and locally sourced wood, we aim to reduce environmental impact while honoring traditional Nepali practices.
